Port Quin in Cornwall
Port Quin is a beautiful cove which is located between Port Isaac and Polzeath on the rugged coast of North Cornwall.
Like many small coastal villages in Cornwall, Port Quin was once a thriving fishing village. However, it was all but abandoned during the 19th century leading to just a handful of properties being intact today. All properties in the village are now owned and let by the National Trust who strive to ensure they remain there for generations to come.
Today Port Quin is a popular yet peaceful inlet which is surrounded by beautiful coastline. The sheltered and very narrow cove reveals a rocky beach at low tide which offers a variety of rock pools for children to explore.
The area is popular as a welcome break from busier nearby towns and villages such as Port Issac and Polzeath. Although popular with families, the area is perfect for those who love walking, and a variety of water sports including swimming, coasteering, and canoeing.
