Falmouth is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the south coast of Cornwall because of its wide range of things to see and do.
Located at the entrance to the River Fal, the town boasts a fascinating maritime heritage. Not only does it have one of the deepest natural harbours in the world but it is also very sheltered providing the perfect spot for a number of watersports activities. Various events occur in the town each year including gig rowing, the Falmouth Regatta, and Pendennis Cup and there have also been a number of record breaking attempts that have started or ended at Falmouth.
Falmouth is perfect for holidays and offers everything from water based activities to great attractions. The National Maritime Museum and the historic Pendennis Castle are very popular whilst the town centre has a wide variety of cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. There are also some fantastic sandy beaches located nearby to Falmouth including Gyllyngvase Beach, Swanpool Beach and finally Maenporth Beach.
